Batman has always been a mysterious character, but did you know these 10 bat-tastic facts about him?

#5: Bruce Wayne Owns The Daily Planet

#4: Heath Ledger Designed The Joker's Makeup in 2008's The Dark Knight

Wanna know he he got his scars? Well it turns out that Heath ledger was responsible for the Clown Prince of Crime's manic look. Ledger designed the makeup with cosmetics found at a drugstore. This was because in the movie, Joker would do his own makeup, and Heath did the same. Everywhere from his long, red smile to his dark, ominous eyes, the way he looked was visually stunning, while providing a unique take on Joker. The films makeup team had to recreate Ledger's original design every day for shooting.

#3: Marvel and DC Teamed Up to Create Dark Claw, a cross between Batman and Wolverine

Batman and Wolverine are arguably two of the coolest characters in the world of comics. Now, Imagine if there was an amalgamation of the two. Pretty cool, right? Dark Claw is the brainchild of "rival" companies, Marvel and DC. He is part of the Amalgam Universe, a new company in which Marvel and DC created mashups of their most successful and popular characters. These comics were released in 1996, around the time in which the DC vs. Marvel event was in circulation. Dark Claw aka Logan Wayne has an origin story similar to both of the heroes in question. He possesses both the healing factor of Wolverine, and the great stealth of Batman.

#2: Luke Skywalker Voiced The Joker

This is a relatively well-known piece of knowledge, but nonetheless interesting. In both Batman: The Animated Series and the critically acclaimed Arkham video games, Mark Hamill voiced the iconic villain. After saving the galaxy from the evil clutches of Darth Vader, Hamill made the transition into voice acting. He gave life to characters including Evil Cat from The Powerpuff Girls and Skips from Regular Show, among others.

#1: Bob Kane Wasn't Entirely Responsible for Batman's Creation

When you ask a fan, "Who created Batman", their answer will most likely be Bob Kane.

While this answer is technically correct, it goes much, much deeper than that. Bob Kane had the original idea for a Bat-themed hero, but enlisted the help of fellow writer Bill Finger. Finger took Kane's idea and made it the Batman we all know and love today. Bill was responsible for giving us his iconic origins story, the Batmobile, and his crazy catalogue of villains.

That just about does it! What was your favorite fact from this list? What facts did we leave out! Let us know down in the comments!

Happy Batman Day!
