So What Exactly IS Nickelodeon's "The Splat"?

It's darn near impossible to go through you Facebook feed without seeing a picture of something nostalgic with a caption reading "Only 90s kids will remember", or something to that effect. Well if there's anything that 90s kids will remember, it would be the classic Nickelodeon shows. Think of the countless hours you've spent glued to the television, accompanying a ragtag group of babies on mystical adventures, or cracking up at the kid-friendly sketch comedy show, All That.

Now, you'll be able to relive those childhood memories with Nickelodeon's "The Splat". The Splat mysteriously appeared on social media, generating speculation and excitement of Nick fans young and old.

News broke this past week about Nick's new programming block called "The Splat". Originally thought to be it's own separate channel, Nick revealed it to be a programming block to take place on Teen Nick from 10pm to 6am. It seems like this will be similar to blocks like Cartoon Network's Adult Swin and Nickelodeon's Nick@Nite.

It was also revealed that the block will be accompanied by a fan-powered website, http://www.thesplat.com/

Shows will include All That, Angry Beavers, Are You Afraid of the Dark, CatDog, Clarissa Explains It All, Hey Arnold!, Hey Dude, Kenan & Kel, Ren & Stimpy, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Rocko’s Modern Life, Rugrats, Salute Your Shorts and The Wild Thornberrys.

It was originally speculated that the channel would solely focus on 90s cartoons, but we now know that live action programming will be included.

TeenNick also hired millennial employes, affectionately dubbed "The Splat Pack" who grew up with the shows that will be aired. They will be responsible for helping better The Splat, providing consultation for the content shown on block.

Along with the block, Nick will be rolling out an Emoji keyboard set to release in October, including over 30 emoticons and gifs of fan favorite 90s characters.

Fans seem very anxious to find out how successful The Splat will be, but nonetheless are excited. If the recent success of Jimmy Fallon's Good Burger parody is any indicator, The Splat will be a huge triumph for Nick.

But what do you guys think? Are you excited for The Splat?
